As families begin to make plans for the holidays, please review the timeline for the BISD Middle School Semester Exam Schedule. We want to provide you this as early as possible to help you as you make your travel arrangements.
Please plan for your student to be in class every day leading up to the exam day so they are prepared for their semester exams. The semester exam schedule is included for your reference. Students that are not available on the day of their exam are responsible for reaching out to the teacher to schedule time. Exams may not be taken outside of the exam window.

NeeDoh's, Techdeck's, and Squishy Objects
We have seen another increase in students bringing noneducational squishy toys and objects to class. In an effort to minimize distractions from the amazing learning going on in the classrooms we are asking that students not bring Needoh or comparable squishy toys with them to campus.
Keeping Our Classrooms Focused
We kindly ask that students leave squishy toys and similar fidget items at home. While we understand that these items can be fun and comforting for students, they can also be a distraction from the amazing learning taking place in our classrooms. Our goal is to minimize distractions and help every student stay focused, engaged, and ready to learn. We appreciate your partnership and support in helping us provide the best learning environment possible for all students!
|
To help maintain a clean, safe, and focused lunch environment for all students, students will need to choose items to bring for lunch other than popcorn. We have noticed increased messes in the cafeteria, distractions caused by sharing with tablemates, and concerns regarding student allergies and dietary restrictions. Additionally, popcorn has been carried out of the cafeteria and into classrooms, creating similar concerns in instructional spaces. We appreciate your support and understanding as we work together to keep our campus clean, safe, and focused on learning. Thank you for partnering with us to make lunchtime a positive experience for all Eagles!

Our students had their 2nd grade level meeting this week. Administration and counselors reviewed procedures with students as well as providing them with tips and tricks to help building their organization and time management skills. Overall, our students are doing a phenomenal job with everything. We are very proud of them!
|
Is your student absent for a medical reason? In addition to the Attendance Secretary and Nurse, please email their teachers to let them know. This will help teachers work with your student to create a plan to get caught up once they are feeling better and ready to return to school.
|
Please use the form linked below to recognize any Voss staff throughout the year. We will publish your name (if you choose for it to not be anonymous) and recognition in our weekly newsletters.

Football:
Our football season has officially come to a close and words can't express how proud we are of these young men. They represented our campus with pride, character, and toughness this fall.
Also, I would like to recognize our 8th grade B team, who clinched back to back district titles! This group will end their Voss football careers undefeated! Great work boys.
Soccer:
Tryouts have taken place this week and we are excited to get the season started! A Parent Square group will be started next week and details for the season will be posted there soon.
Basketball:
Tryouts will take place 11/16-11/18. If your child is interested in trying out, please have them fill out the form below. More details will be shared soon. All participants MUST have a physical on file with the coaching staff in order to tryout.
|
Parents please share and discuss with your student - Student spectators that stay after school to attend the 5:00 p.m. athletic games at Voss are to stay inside the school in the front foyer until a staff member walks them down to the gym or football field at 4:45. Students may not roam the building after school. Students should also never leave the campus. Parents please know there is no adult supervision for your child unless they are waiting in the front foyer.

Join Us for Thriller in the Park — A Spooktacular Night of Service!
Get ready for a frighteningly fun Boerne ISD tradition! We invite you to join us for the 6th Annual Thriller in the Park, bringing together all of Voss' Theatre students alongside the theatre students from both the other middle and both of the high school students for an unforgettable evening on the Champion Football field from 7-8pm!
Students from across Boerne ISD will take the field in their best zombie attire to perform a massive synchronized dance to Michael Jackson’s Thriller, along with additional musical performances showcasing the incredible talents of our BISD students.
Best of all, this night of entertainment has a purpose!
Admission is a donation of non-perishable food items, which will benefit Hill Country Family Services and help provide food for families right here in Kendall County. Guests are encouraged to bring generously and help us fill the shelves! Thriller in the Park is a chance for students, families, staff, and community members to come together, have a little spooky fun, and use the arts to make a meaningful difference for our neighbors.
Bring your family. Bring your friends. Bring a bag or can of food—and come watch our students bring Thriller to life!

Currently, the National Junior Honor Society is only open to the 8th grade members that were inducted last school year in May. There will be three meetings each semester this year. Our first meeting was September 14th and our second meeting was October 5th. During our October 5th meeting, we held officer elections. Congratulations again to our NJHS President: Anna Jane Gilley, Vice President: Mariana Cardenas, Secretary: Ivy Musch, Parliamentarian: Amelia Jackson, and our Service Officer: Charlotte Sprencel.
The last meeting of the semester will be this Monday, December 7th. We will also be doing a grade check and service hours will be due in December! Reminders will be made through Google Classroom. Be sure to check often for possible service opportunities and other important information. There are many opportunities on campus and in the community. If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Uhl - jennifer.uhl@boerneisd.net.

A huge thank-you to Steven and Paige Fisher of SPF Printing for sponsoring BRIC 2027: A Day at the Ranch and providing the official robotics mat for our first annual tournament!
We’re also grateful to Voss parent Dr. Lillich for building the tables needed for the event. Your support is helping us bring this experience to life for our students!
There’s still plenty of time to sponsor BRIC 2027. If you or your business would like to help, please contact:
