Fall Break Begins

Families,
It’s hard to believe the first nine weeks is already ending! It’s been such a great start to the year here at Voss! There has been a lot of learning, growth, and excitement happening every day! We are so proud of their accomplishments so far!

As we head into fall break, I hope you get a chance to relax, recharge, and enjoy some quality time together. Our teachers will be doing the same so they can come back refreshed and ready for the next stretch. They’ll return on Tuesday, October 13 for conference and professional learning and will respond to any messages starting Wednesday, October 14.

Thank you for being such an important part of our school community. Have a wonderful fall break and we'll see students on Wednesday, October 14th!

Jessica Shults, Principal

October 15 Family Night from 5-6 PM

Come SOAR Among Stars With Us!
Join us for a meaningful evening of connection, creativity, and community as we come together to celebrate the values that help our Voss community SOAR—Service, Ownership, Achievement, and Resilience. Our hallways will transform into colorful “constellations,” each representing one of our core values. We invite students, families, friends, and community members to experience the creativity and spirit of our campus and vote for their favorite hallway decorations. Come be part of this special celebration of who we are together!

10/19-10/23: Spirit Week for BHS Hoco & Halloween Dance

Show your school spirit, dress up, and bring the hype as we count down to Boerne High's HOCO & Voss' very own Halloween dance!

Halloween Dance - October 23

Get ready for a frightfully good time, Eagles! You’re invited to our annual Halloween Dance on Friday, October 23, from 6- 8 pm, where the fun is as silly as your costumes are spooky! Come dressed in your best Halloween fit and dance the night away with your friends. More frightfully fun details about activities & competitions happening at the dance are creeping your way soon!

Tickets are now on sale online & in person! Tickets are $15 for Entry + Canes meal or $5 for an Entry Ticket. All meal tickets must be purchased by Friday, October 16th.

Cash purchases may be done before or after school: Ms. Goodman will be set up in the main hallway, outside of her classroom (C203), each day.

Parent Chaperones - Halloween Dance

Student Council has been working hard to organize and create fun new activities for this year's dance! We would love to have some parents there to help chaperone and work in specific areas of the dance alongside our StuCo students.

Please note: our dance falls on the same night as the Boerne High HOCO football game!

Attention 6th Graders!

You are doing an amazing job adjusting to middle school and we would like to celebrate you!

Veterans Day - 11/11

Capt. Mark T. Voss Middle School will be celebrating Veterans with a Veteran Car Parade and Reception.  The car parade will line up at 1:45 p.m. with a step off at 2:00 p.m. on Voss Parkway.  The reception sponsored by the Voss PTO will begin immediately following the car parade in the cafeteria.

If you and/or a family member would like to participate, please complete this form by 5:00 p.m. on  Friday, November 6, as  we would love to display the Veteran’s photo, Branch of Service and rank in our presentation.

If you plan to attend the reception after the parade, please complete the form below.  This will also expedite the check in process since your visitor badge will be ready for you in the main office when you arrive.

We look forward to celebrating our Veterans on this special day.

PE/ Athletics 🏉 🏀 ⚽ 🏐 🎾 👟

Volleyball:
The 7th Grade A and B volleyball teams had an outstanding season, going undefeated throughout all of their regular-season games and showing great teamwork, determination, and growth. The 7th Grade B team capped off the season by winning the district tournament without losing a single set all season, a very impressive accomplishment!

Both 8th grade teams competed with heart and determination all season, showing tremendous growth along the way. The A Team battled through injuries and adversity, fighting to the finish. The B Team earned a spot in the championship game and battled through a tough three-game set. While both teams fell just short, their grit, growth, and commitment made for a season we can all be proud of!

Cross Country:
What a great Cross-Country season! Our kids competed hard at every meet and showed incredible dedication by consistently showing up for early morning practices and giving up their Saturday mornings to go compete. I’m so proud of the effort, determination, and teamwork they showed throughout the season. Great job, Cross Country!

Football:
Our football program went 3-1 against Medina Valley this week. Our 7th grade A team and 8th grade B team are both in contention to win a district championship as they head into the final week of the season. We are very proud of all of our young men's commitment and heart that they've shown this season!
