Hispanic Heritage Month

We are excited to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month here at Voss, observed from September 15 through October 15. This special month is an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the rich cultures, traditions, history, achievements, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities.

Let’s come together and celebrate Hispanic  Heritage month on Wednesday, September 16th by wearing your  fiesta shirt, guayaberas, soccer jerseys from any of the Spanish Speaking countries, earrings, headbands or any accessories.

Happy Hispanic Heritage Month!

Student IDs

Our 6th-8th grade student IDs are in!

6th grade students received their IDs this week.

7th and 8th graders will receive their new one next week. 7th and 8th graders are encouraged to keep their original ID and store them in their backpacks so they always have a back up in case they forget the new one at home.

Beginning Monday, all 6th-8th students will be expected to follow our district procedure and wear their ID at all times while on campus. If a student forgets their ID, we will provide a temporary ID and wristband for the day. After three temporary IDs during a grading cycle, a student will receive lunch detention. This will reset at the beginning of each grading period. If an ID is lost, a replacement ID can be purchased for $5, and a replacement lanyard for $1.

Most of our 7th and 8th graders have been doing a good job wearing their IDs all day as a part of their routine, and we are confident our 6th graders will be just as successful!

Thank you for partnering with us and helping your student get into the habit of bringing and wearing their ID each day. We appreciate your support!

Tip: You may consider purchasing a second ID for your student to always keep in their backpack. The grade level colored lanyard is free and available in the front office.

Schedule Changes

Hello Voss Families. We hope you have had a great beginning to your year, and students have begun to settle into their routines. We will no longer be making changes to students’ schedules. As for advanced classes, the window to move out of an advanced class will open on August 31 and will close on September 17. Students who are wanting to move out of an advanced class must meet the following criteria: parent conference with the teacher and completion of course assignments and/or attendance at recommended tutorials. The process to drop an advanced course begins with the student’s teacher.

Football:
Our football teams played hard against a strong South program Tuesday night. The 8th grade B team had another dominating performance, winning 28-0. The 8th grade A team suffered a close defeat despite an incredible effort, 22-8. The 7th grade A and B teams had a pair of losses on the road, but both are starting to find a rhythm as they head towards the half way point of the season. Win, lose, or draw we are always proud of the fight, character, and pride that our Eagles play with!

Cross Country:
Our XC team is coming off of a much needed bye week. The kids have been working hard in our early morning sessions and we are very excited to see how they run in the upcoming VMS invitational.

National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)

Our first meeting will be this MONDAY, September 14th during Advisory in the library. Please be sure to check in with your Advisory teacher BEFORE heading to the library.

Reminders will be made through Google Classroom. Be sure to check often for possible service opportunities and other important information. There are many opportunities on campus and in the community. If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Uhl - jennifer.uhl@boerneisd.net.

Robotics

Support Our Robotics Team – Making History!

Our Robotics Club is gearing up for an exciting tournament on May 1st, and we need YOUR help! This will be the first-ever in-house robotics competition in Boerne ISD, designed and created by our very own students! We're seeking sponsors to support our talented students as they showcase their engineering skills, creativity, and teamwork in this groundbreaking event.

Sponsorships help cover tournament fees, materials, and equipment upgrades that make these incredible learning experiences possible. This student-led competition represents innovation, leadership, and the entrepreneurial spirit we're cultivating in our young engineers.

Whether you're a local business, community organization, or individual supporter, your contribution makes a direct impact on our students' STEM education and competition success. Sponsors will receive recognition at the event, on our team materials, and in our communications.

Interested in powering the next generation of innovators? Contact Mr. Cardoza at Ricardo.Cardoza@boerneisd.net and Mr. Salcido at Christopher.Salcido@boerneisd.net to learn about sponsorship opportunities. Thank you for investing in our students' futures!
