Student IDs

7th and 8th grade students are doing a great job with wearing their IDs daily and throughout the day. Great job everyone! Thank you parents and students for helping us maintain a safe and orderly school environment!

6th grade IDs are not in yet, so we will not begin enforcing their ID check yet. I'll send an update next week on the status.

Tip: You may consider purchasing a second ID for your student to always keep in their backpack. The grade level colored lanyard is free and available in the front office.

Open Barn Night

Students and families please see info below to learn more about the Ag Barn and the opportunities it provides:

During Open Barn Night, families will have an opportunity to tour the facility, learn more about the program, and visit with our Ag teachers. Teachers representing the species housed at the Ag Barn will be available to answer questions and help families better understand the experience.

Snacks in Class

*Students may bring a small snack to eat during the first 10 minutes of 1st, 2nd, 5th, or 6th period for classes that allow snacks.
*The snack must be simple and easy to consume.
*The following will not be allowed. Students that bring these items will be asked to keep them in their backpack or throw them away if they are opened:
 - Sugary drinks
 - Energy drinks
 - Full meals
 - Large bags of food such as bags of chips other than snack size.
*Drinks from coffee shops brought to school are to be consumed in the cafeteria. Any students with a drink other than water will be thrown away.
*During anytime of the school year, teachers have the ability to say no snack at all if they choose.
*Students are responsible for cleaning up after themselves. All trash must be placed in a trashcan.

NeeDoh's and Squishy Objects

We have seen an increase in students bringing noneducational squishy toys and objects to class. In an effort to minimize distractions from the amazing learning going on in the classrooms we are asking that students not bring Needoh or comparable squishy toys with them to campus.

Keeping Our Classrooms Focused
We kindly ask that students leave squishy toys and similar fidget items at home. While we understand that these items can be fun and comforting for students, they can sometimes become a distraction from the amazing learning taking place in our classrooms. Our goal is to minimize distractions and help every student stay focused, engaged, and ready to learn. We appreciate your partnership and support in helping us provide the best learning environment possible for all students!

Schedule Changes

Hello Voss Families. We hope you have had a great beginning to your year, and students have begun to settle into their routines. We will no longer be making changes to students’ schedules. As for advanced classes, the window to move out of an advanced class will open on August 31 and will close on September 17. Students who are wanting to move out of an advanced class must meet the following criteria: parent conference with the teacher and completion of course assignments and/or attendance at recommended tutorials. The process to drop an advanced course begins with the student’s teacher.

National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)

Currently, the National Junior Honor Society is only open to the 8th grade members that were inducted last school year in May. There will be three meetings each semester this year. Our first meeting will be MONDAY, September 14th during Advisory in the library (THIS IS A CORRECTION FROM THE PAST TWO NEWSLETTERS). Correction has been addressed through on campus announcements and will be put on Google Classroom closer to the date of our meeting.

Reminders will be made through Google Classroom. Be sure to check often for possible service opportunities and other important information. There are many opportunities on campus and in the community. If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Uhl - jennifer.uhl@boerneisd.net.

Robotics

Support Our Robotics Team – Making History!

Our Robotics Club is gearing up for an exciting tournament on May 1st, and we need YOUR help! This will be the first-ever in-house robotics competition in Boerne ISD, designed and created by our very own students! We're seeking sponsors to support our talented students as they showcase their engineering skills, creativity, and teamwork in this groundbreaking event.

Sponsorships help cover tournament fees, materials, and equipment upgrades that make these incredible learning experiences possible. This student-led competition represents innovation, leadership, and the entrepreneurial spirit we're cultivating in our young engineers.

Whether you're a local business, community organization, or individual supporter, your contribution makes a direct impact on our students' STEM education and competition success. Sponsors will receive recognition at the event, on our team materials, and in our communications.

Interested in powering the next generation of innovators? Contact Mr. Cardoza at Ricardo.Cardoza@boerneisd.net and Mr. Salcido at Christopher.Salcido@boerneisd.net to learn about sponsorship opportunities. Thank you for investing in our students' futures!
