What is AVID?
AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination. Boerne ISD is in the early stages of the AVID School-wide implementation process. In Boerne, we believe that all students are AVID students. Students do not have to be enrolled in an advanced course. AVID strategies are incorporated across all content areas and AVID curriculum is embedded into the scope and sequence within the electives of Student Leadership, Digital Literacy I & II, STEM I & II, Wellness, and College and Career Readiness.
AVID's mission is to close the opportunity gap by preparing all students for college and career readiness and success in a global society.

Voss Middle School will implement organizational strategies to ensure 100% of our students create and track their individual learning during advisory.
AVID Site Goal #2
Voss Middle School will incorporate WICOR strategies to ensure all students collaborate as a communication tool in every classroom daily.
